Laser Photonics was, by far, one of the most interesting companies I’ve ever worked for. I was hired due to my experience with PHP/MySQL Application development and Search Engine Optimization (SEO) experience.
One of my main tasks, while at Laser Photonics, was to empower the company’s sales team using Search Engine exposure. In particular, Google Search was targeted using a custom database developed approach. I have had experience developing large amounts of content using custom content management systems (CMS). These database approaches were fairly common, as a large amount of “Google Fodder” can be created and indexed into Google Search. A specialized Laser Applications database was created online for users with advanced search functionality. The Laser Applications database could be searched by Material, Industry, and/or Laser Process. Development was accomplished using PHP, MySQL, JavaScript on a Plesk Server.
I was also responsible for the companies SugarCRM system and the main customized processing created to work with SugarCRM. I worked closely with Sale Administrators and Management to ensure the proper CRM workflow. This was accomplished using SugarCRM’s Studio/Module Builder tools as well as several custom Logic Hooks integrated into the system. An external (to SugarCRM) call center application was also developed to allow for rapid call-center activities.
While at Laser Photonics: Focus on Open Source software (Custom CMS and SugarCRM), online marketing, PPC advertising, email marketing and much more. Employee of the Year 2006 and 2007 due to increased Google.com search engine and overall marketing exposure.
